Weekend in Chicago

We just returned from a fun filled weekend with our friends, Ethan, Elizabeth and Bill. They live in a really nice area just outside of Chicago. Lil' T was great on both flights and was a pretty flexible traveler. We had a very early flight on Friday so we had all that day to do fun things. We did not have the nicest weather but we worked around that. On Friday we arrived and took some time to relax and just let the kids play and then Lil' T took a super nap. In the afternoon we went to this amazing Children's Museum (not the one in the city). Lil' T and Ethan had a blast. I think their favorite areas were the water and music areas. They both came out very wet from the water area. After playing hard we sat and had a snack of the most amazing pretzels we have ever had. They were stuffed with lots of fun things. For example Chocolate, Apple Cinnamon and Spinach were three of the many choices. On our way home the boys made some great music with their new egg shakers. On Saturday we went to this neat place called The Grove. It had walking paths, a log cabin, and tons of animals. We spent a lot of time watching the turtles. That afternoon we visited with Elizabeth's aunt and uncle from Wisconsin and we went to a playground (they have tons of playgrounds/parks in their area). Today we walked to another playground. The boys were really cute going down the big twisty slide together. Before heading to the airport we went to this fun "Touch a Truck" event sponsored by the Children's Museum. The boys had fun climbing up into the different trucks. Here are some pictures from our fabulous weekend! Thank you Rohner family for a great time.
