Well what a weekend we had! An ice storm struck our town (and many other towns and states) leaving destruction in its path. It looked like a tornado had ripped through our trees. Huge branches came down and we lost power. We were without power for 2 and a half days. We were very lucky because we know many people are still without and won't get it back for at least a week:( We were also lucky because we have a woodstove for heat and it was cold enough outside to store food in coolers. It was an adventure that's for sure. It was like camping inside a house. We had to bring in water too since we have a well. In the midst of the blackout we had two parties planned. We decided to carry on. We had our annual holiday party one night. IT was dark but lots of fun. We had candles, flashlights and a camping lantern. It was a smaller party than normal but that was probably a good thing in the dark. The next morning we held a small party to celebrate Lil' T's 2nd birthday with some of his close buddies. The power came back on about halfway through the party. WE all cheered very loudly:) So much excitement for just a few short days. Lil' T and I are now enjoying a day of relaxation. It is amazing how much we rely on Modern conveniences that are all run by electricity:) Hope everyone else that went through this storm is surviving! Here are some pictures to enjoy: 1) The Ice Storm, 2) Our little Elf, 3) Ava, Molly, Lil' T, Vivian & Joshua singing Wheels on the Bus (a great way to get toddlers to sit still for a picture!), 4) Lil' T helping his Auntie blow up the balloons, 5) The big kid table (plus one little sister!), 6) The toddler table and 7) family photo (not very clean but happy)
